SCOTTSDALE, AZ June 25, 2003 - The Scottsdale League for the Arts is conducting a nationwide search for original artwork to celebrate the 26th Annual Scottsdale Culinary Festival in April 2004.
The Festival is seeking this work to serve as its poster, web site, brochure and advertising image. It should serve as dining room or kitchen art.
The Scottsdale Culinary Festival is a nationally recognized charitable event to raise funds to support the arts and art education in the Valley of the Sun. The selected art will receive extensive local and national visibility.
The artist must submit a slide or photograph of his or her own original work. The artwork selected must reproduce well for a poster, the web site and souvenir items for the Festival. To raise funds, the original work will be sold during the Festival and proceeds from the sale will be shared with the artist.
The deadline to submit slides or photographs for consideration is August 29, 2003.

Scottsdale League for the ArtsThis competition is open to artists nationwide who, at the time of the entry deadline, are 18 years of age or older. The artist must have sole title to the artwork, and to any photographs or reproductions of any kind of the work submitted.
The artist must give permission for the selected artwork to be reproduced; this reproduction may include a poster, web site, programs, brochures and souvenir items such as aprons and hats.
Media: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, collage, graphic art, drawings/mixed media and photography. Proceeds from the sale of the original artwork will be shared with the artist.
Selection process: First, a jury, to be announced later, will screen the artwork based on the slide or photograph submitted.
Second, finalists will be notified of their qualifying entry and the original work may be observed or additional slides or photographs requested.
Third, the jury will make a final selection and notify the artist.
