Authors’ Books Sold Out At “Feasting with the Authors™”

(Scottsdale, AZ) – April 26, 2004 – On Tuesday, April 13th at 6:00 pm, 16 nationally renowned culinarians came together to autograph their cookbooks and mingle with Valley residents for the 26th Annual Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s second annual “Feasting with the Authors” ™. The reception took place at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort and Spa, where Executive Chef Reed Groban created a spectacular sampling of favorite recipe selections from each of the acclaimed author’s cookbooks and sipped wine from Ceretto and Castello Di Monsanto winery.

The gorgeous setting of the terraces at the Princess’s TPC Grill, overlooking the 18th green, provided a festive atmosphere for guests as they sipped, savored, and received personal autographs inscribed in their cookbooks from the award-winning chefs in attendance. Guests at the event had to vie for books as many were quickly sold out.

With such dishes to relish as Mountain Lake Duck Pate with Dried Cherry Chutney, by Dotty Griffith (Contemporary Cowboy), Pork Tenderloin with Poblano Chiles and Yam Gratin by Robert McGrath (American Western Cooking), Seared Striped Bass on Green Papaya Salad (by Sanford D’Amato) featured in Winning Styles by Elin Jeffords, Metro Bis Crab Cocktail by Courtney Febbroriello (The Wife of the The Chef), Chickpea Salad with Coriander and Cumin, by Deborah Madison (Local Flavors), and Squash Blossom Quesadillas with Chipotle Corn Relish, by Barbara Fenzl (Savor the Southwest) tastebuds were popping. This was one celebration where everyone seemed to have room for dessert. With decadently sweet creations by Gaye Ingram (Webster’s Culinary Dictionary), who could resist?
