Acclaimed Cookbook Authors Headline
"Feasting with the Authors"
Scottsdale,
AZ - (February 4, 2004)
- Have you ever pictured yourself as the star of your own cookbook?
Meet nationally acclaimed chefs that have accomplished this feat. The
Scottsdale Culinary Festival will feature "Feasting with the Authors"
on Tuesday, April 13th, 2004 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort
and Spa.
Placed in the gorgeous setting of the terraces at the Princess's TPC
Grill, which overlooks the 18th green, guests have the chance to get
a personal autograph inscribed in their cookbooks from award-winning
chefs.
Beginning at 6:00 p.m. authors will be on hand to share personal insights
into their style of cooking as guests enjoy a reception sampling the
sensational dishes of their favorite recipes and sip wine from Ceretto
and Castello Di Monsanto.

for $75.00 by contacting the Scottsdale League for the Arts offices

Chefs include:
- Michel Stroot,
James Beard Award - nominee and executive chef at Golden Door Spa, and
author of "The Golden Door Cooks Light and Easy".
- Robert McGrath,
James Beard Award winning chef for the Roaring Fork restaurant in Scottsdale,
AZ and author of "American Western Cooking, From the Roaring Fork".
- Crescent Dragonwagon,
Winner of 2003 James Beard Award for "Passionate Vegetarian",
author of more than 40 books, and celebrated writing instructor.
- Deborah Madison,
James Beard Award Winner and Julia Child Award Winner for her book "Vegetarian
Cooking for Everyone", and authored three additional books including
"Local Flavors".
- Judy Rodgers, chef/co-owner
of Zuni Café in San Francisco and author of James Beard Award
Winning "The Zuni Café Cookbook" in 2003.
- Donna Nordin, James
Beard Nominated and Chef/Owner of award-winning southwestern restaurant,
Café Terra Cotta in Tucson, AZ and author of "The Café
Terra Cotta Cookbook".
- Elin Jeffords,
John Ormond, and Graham Walters, co-conspirers of "Winning Styles
Cookbook", a compilation of James Beard winners and their stories
are author, photographer and designer respectively.
- James Peterson,
winner of several James Beard Awards, author of 8 cookbooks with two
more on the way, from Executive Chef to culinary educator and most recently
as author of "Glorious French Food" - a James Beard Winner
and "Sweet Wines".
- Courtney Febbroriello,
author of "Wife of the Chef" and co-owner of Metro Bis, an
acclaimed Connecticut bistro.
- Barbara Pool Fenzl
host of the PBS 13 part series, "Savor the Southwest", author
of "Southwest the Beautiful Cookbook" and founder of Les Gourmettes
cooking school in Arizona.
- Alan "Skip"
Hause, Owner/chef of Fabulous Food, Inc., a catering company in Phoenix
and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, author of "On
Cooking - Techniques from Expert Chefs".
- Gaye Ingram, co-author
of James Beard Nominated "Webster's New World Dictionary of Culinary
Arts".
- Shelly Sikora,
co-owner of Bobby McGee's, a one-time 24-restaurant chain in the United
States and Australia, presents her first cookbook "An Italian Affair".
- Dotty Griffith,
author of "The Contemporary Cowboy Cookbook" and Dallas Morning
News restaurant critic.
- Glenn Humphrey,
Former Instructor: Culinary Institute of America and Scottsdale Culinary
Institute, and co-author of "Creating Chefs: A Journey Through
Culinary School With Recipes and Lessons".
- Mary Evely, internationally
published author and winner of the Julia Child Cookbook Award in 1999,
"The Vintner's Table" has been critically acclaimed.
"We have an
all-star line up of national and local cookbook authors this year. Guests
will have a chance to talk one-on-one with these celebrity chef authors,
while sampling some of the recipes in their award-winning books,"
states Gwen Ashley Walters, Chairperson of Feasting with the Authors
and Celebrity Chef.
The Scottsdale League
for the Arts (SLA) contributes to several Valley organizations, including
the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, the Arts in Education Council, and
the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. SLA is a non-profit volunteer
organization made up of concerned and caring individuals who invest
their time and effort to raise funds for the arts and art education
programs.
SLA is looking for
positive and motivated people to volunteer at the Scottsdale Culinary
Festival. It's a wonderful way to get involved in the community and
expand your knowledge about the arts and culinary fields. To find out
