SCOTTSDALE LEAGUE FOR THE ARTS AND THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC ANNOUNCE 2003
GRANT RECIPIENTS
SCOTTSDALE, AZ --- (September 19, 2003) The Scottsdale League for the
Arts and The Arizona Republic awarded more than $175,000 through its
2003 grants program to 24 Valley nonprofit organizations. Since 1992
the League has contributed more than $1.2 million to support art and
art education in the Valley.
In only its second year, the League's grant program received more than
70 applications for consideration. The program was designed to award
funds on a competitive basis to any bona fide Arizona nonprofit agency
providing direct services or activities related to the arts and art
education.
The 2003 grant recipients are:

- Arts in Education Council
- Ballet Arizona
- Boys & Girls Club of Scottsdale
- Concerned Citizens for Community Health
- Coyotes Ice Ensemble
- Desert Bells International
- Desert Dance Theatre
- Desert Foothills Theater
- Fountain Hills Community Theater
- Free Arts of Arizona
- Greasepaint Scottsdale Youth Theatre
- Mesa Community College Center
- Phoenix Art Museum
- Phoenix Boys Choir Association
- Phoenix Children's Hospital
- The Phoenix Symphony
- Scottsdale Cultural Council
- Scottsdale Foundation for the Handicapped
- Southwest Human Development
- Valley Youth Theatre
- West Valley Art Museum
The Scottsdale League for the Arts (SLA) is a nonprofit volunteer organization
made up of concerned and caring individuals who invest their time and
effort toward creative fund-raising for the arts and art education.
This is a fun way to become involved in your community and expand your
knowledge in the art and culinary fields. Memberships are available
for $125 annually.
