Nationally Acclaimed Cookbook Authors Headline
Scottsdale, Arizona
- (November 2002) - In celebration of its 25th Anniversary, the Scottsdale
Culinary Festival will inaugurate "Evening
with the Authors" on Tuesday, March 11th, 2003.
The new event honors nationally acclaimed Chef-come-Cookbook authors
at the Five Diamond Marquesa Restaurant in the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess
Resort and Spa.
Fans of the longest running culinary festival in the country have craved
the opportunity to meet the masterminds behind award-winning recipes.
Now they'll have the chance to get autographed cookbooks from:
- Robert McGrath,
James Beard Award winning chef for the Roaring Fork restaurant in
Scottsdale, AZ and author "American Western Cooking, From
the Roaring Fork".
- Jeremiah Tower,
Chef/Owner of Stars restaurant in San Francisco, James Beard award
winner and author of "Jeremiah Tower Cooks" and "California
Dish".
- Douglas Rodriguez,
owner and creator of Deseo at the Westin Kierland in Scottsdale and
Chicama in New York CityTen and is the author of Speed Press: "Nuevo
Latino, Latin Ladles and Latin Flavors on the Grill and Great Ceviche
Book revealing his mastery of ceviches".
- Gaye Ingram
author of "Webster's New World Dictionary of Culinary Arts."
- Ethan Becker,
grandson of the original author of "The Joy of Cooking"
and new author of revisions for "Joy of Cooking" cookbook
series.
- Barbara Pool
Fenzl host of the PBS 13 part series, "Savor the Southwest",
author of "Southwest the Beautiful Cookbook" and
founder of Les Gourmettes cooking school in Arizona.

- Donna Nordin,
Chef/Owner of award-winning southwestern restaurant, Café Terra
Cotta in Tucson, A.Z. and author of "The Café Terra
Cotta Cookbook".
- Nick Malgieri,
Director of the baking program at Peter Kump's New York Cooking School,
former executive chef at Windows on the World in New York City, and
author of "Chocolate," "Cookies Unlimited"
and "Great Italian Desserts".
- Alan "Skip"
Hause, Owner/chef of Fabulous Food, Inc., a catering company in
Phoenix and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.
Beginning at 6:00
p.m. authors will be on hand to share personal insights into their style
of cooking as guests enjoy a reception comprised of their favorite recipes.

The Scottsdale League for the Arts (SLA) is a non-profit volunteer organization
made up of concerned and caring individuals who invest their time and
effort. SLA contributes to the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, the Arts
in Education council, and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.
