Volunteers

The Scottsdale League for the Arts and the Scottsdale Cultural Council invite you to volunteer for the 33rd Annual Scottsdale Culinary Festival on April 9th & 10th. Our signature event, the Great Arizona Picnic, provides fun opportunities for volunteering and tasting the Valley’s finest culinary and beverage delights.

Proceeds from the Festival benefit the arts and art education programs throughout Arizona. We rely on dedicated community volunteers to staff more than 150 positions on the Festival grounds. Volunteering for the Festival is a great way to share your enthusiasm and support for the arts and host a great party. Come join in the fun!

We are currently updating the Volunteer Application for the 2011 Scottsdale Culinary Festival. If you are interested in volunteering, please check back in with us in November. Thank you for your enthusiasm to help!

Volunteer Opportunities

Admissions/Gates
Be the first to greet Festival guests. Volunteers need a friendly attitude and the ability to work on their feet to collect admission fees, take tickets, answer questions, make guests feel welcome and thank them for attending. Gates can get busy, so extroverts and multi-taskers fit nicely in this position.

Ticket Booths
Volunteers need a friendly attitude, the confidence to handle cash, efficient manual dexterity and good customer service skills to sell food coupons and answer guest questions. Ticket booth volunteers sit at tables for most of their shift.

Beverage Booths
This popular and fun volunteer position returns after a two-year absence; we recruit six volunteers for each of our six beverage booths. Volunteers will sell beer, wine, soft drinks and water to thirsty guests for tasting tickets (no cash). Volunteers must check 21-wristbands before serving guests. Each booth will contain a paid staff bartender who will serve as manager of the booth. Volunteers must be energetic, people-oriented and be able to work on their feet for an entire shift.
